Will Tudor-Evans

Beatrice is an orphan and has no support from her remaining family. She got excellent marks on leaving Saramek Primary School and after finishing at Tengecha Girls’ High School, she had a good enough grade to get a government sponsored place at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology to read a Bachelor of Arts degree in education which she started in 2015 and will graduate at the end of 2019. She is already job-hunting. We paid for her board and lodging together with some pocket money and in the holidays she stayed with a kind teacher from Tengecha and helps with her children. We also paid for a short computer course before we handed over a secondhand laptop kindly donated by a UK friend.

Will and Shirley visited her at her school in July 2014 and in 2016 she and some other former students met up with Will and Shirley at Saramek Primary – a reunion arranged by Stanley Mutai. Will was happy to meet her again in June 2019 and hear about her future dream to be a University lecturer. Beatrice has a lovely personality and fully deserves to do well.

Like some of our other students, Beatrice was generously supported by an individual family through secondary school.
