Mercy began at the Sacred Hills School at Londiani at the beginning of 2015, after doing very well at Saramek Primary school and was put forward as a very worthy candidate by Stanley Mutai, a close friend of the Trust.
She had not dropped below a B in her six terms at secondary and when Will and Shirley visited her in May 2016 they encouraged her to keep it up! At the end of 2019 she started at South Eastern Kenya University at Kitui doing a course leading to Bachelor of Education (Arts). Will enjoyed meeting up with her in Kericho in June 2019 where she seemed very excited about going to University and continuing to play handball! She in fact ended up playing for the university handball team.
She had a placement teaching mathematics and chemistry at the beginning of the year and graduated at the end of 2023.
