Daphne was put forward by Mrs Langat, the principal of Londiani Girls’ High School. Daphne got an exceptionally high score from her primary school near Kericho, but her single mother could not afford the secondary school fees.
Daphne started at Londiani Girls in 2016 where Will and Shirley met her during her first year. She was placed there with another of the Trust’s scholars, Vicky.
She has had consistently good grades and when Will visited her at school in June 2019 he felt very encouraged that she would get to university. She was very outgoing and polite which fits very well with her dream to study journalism and go on to be a News Anchor!
In 2020 Daphne earned a place at Mount Kenya University, where is doing a Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication. After she graduates, she hopes to start her own business and begun writing scripts for media editors. She is also passionate about acting and is part of the University drama club.
